(NL)Anouk Verheyen aka Sistaflex brengt samen met haar vader Jan en bassist Andy Permentier op 5 september de allereerste EP uit van hun rockgroep Sistaflex.
Met Wild & Outrageous bezegelen ze hun gezamenlijke voorliefde voor muziek.
Jan was samen met Piet Van Den Heuvel de drijvende kracht achter de populaire formaties Scooter en Catalog of Cool uit de jaren ’80 en heeft sindsdien tal van muzikale projecten op zijn palmares.
Al vroeg geraakte Sistaflex geïntrigeerd door DJ-ing en begon ze te sparen voor haar allereerste turntables, Sistaflex is dan ook actief als DJ bij de reggae soundsystem Civalizee Foundation. Al snel bleek dit niet genoeg en manifesteerde zich de drang om zelf nummers te schrijven. Na een lange zoektocht doorheen de verschillende genres begon haar voorliefde voor rock toch te primeren en leerde ze zichzelf gitaar spelen om daarna ook het drummen onder de knie te krijgen.
Sista Flex poogt haar muziek altijd een diepere laag te geven. Emotie, liefde, verlies en melancholie zijn thema's die geregeld terugkomen in de songs. Haar bezwerende stem en originele lyrics vloeien op organische wijze samen tot een eigentijds en eigenzinnig geluid, coole tracks met vintage aanpak.
Naast de stevige drumbeats en het unieke stemgeluid van Sista Flex zorgen de vloeiende baslijnen van Andy en de bluesy gitaarriffs van Jan voor stevige rock met een eigenzinnig kantje.

Le 5 septembre 2011, Anouk Verheyen, aka Sistaflex, présente avec son père Jan à la guitare et Andy Permentier à la basse le premier EP de leur groupe rock Sistaflex.
'Wild & Outrageous' scelle leur amour commun de la musique.
Avec le chanteur Piet Van Den Heuvel, Jan était dans les années 1980 la force motrice de formations populaires, telles que Scooter et Catalog of Cool. Depuis, bon nombre de nouveaux projets sont venus enrichir son palmarès.
Très jeune, Sistaflex est déjà intriguée par la richesse artistique de la scène DJ. Elle décide d’épargner pour acheter ses premières platines. Elle rejoint ensuite, en tant que DJ, le soundsystem Civalizee Foundation.
Mais rapidement, ceci ne lui suffit plus et elle ressent le besoin d’écrire ses propres morceaux. Après avoir longuement exploré différents genres musicaux, sa prédilection pour le rock commence à primer.
C’est en autodidacte qu’elle apprend à jouer de la guitare, pour ensuite s’attaquer à la batterie.
Sistaflex essaie toujours d’introduire un sens plus profond dans sa musique. Émotion, amour, perte et mélancolie sont des thèmes récurrents.
Sa voix envoûtante et les textes originaux se mélangent organiquement en un son contemporain et original, avec des tracks épurés à caractère vintage.
Outre la batterie cinglante et la voix unique de Sistaflex, la basse fluide d’Andy et la guitare bluesy de Jan génèrent un rock affirmé et pétillant à la fois.

Anouk Verheyen a.k.a Sistaflex, together with her father Jan and bass player Andy Permentier released the first EP of their rockband Sistaflex on the 5th of September 2011.With “Wild & Outrageous” they seal their common love for music.
Jan formed together with Piet Van Den Heuvel the driving force behind the popular formations Scooter and Catalog of Cool and he has put his name to several musical projects since then.
From an early age Sistaflex was fascinated by DJ-ing and as a result she started saving for her first set of turntables. Nowadays she is also active as a DJ in Civalizee Foundation, one of the leading reggae soundsystems in Europe. However Anouk soon came to feel that this simply wasn't enough and the urge to write her own songs began to manifest itself. After a long search through various different genres of music she couldn't keep ignoring that her first love was for rock music and lead her to take up learning the guitar and very soon afterward she also taught herself how to play the drums.
Sistaflex tries to bring a deeper layer to her music..
Emotions, love, the loss of loved ones and melancolia are all themes that regularly return in her songs. Her hypnotic voice and original lyrics naturally combine together to produce a contemporary and willful sound. Cool tracks with a vintage approach.
The solid drumbeats and the unique voice of Sistaflex combined with the flowing bass lines of Andy and the bluesy guitar riffs of Jan converge to form some serious rock music with a serious rock attitude.
